Write and send an email to your customers. Needs the Marketing email feature.
The fields
| Field | What to put |
|---|---|
| Name | Internal only — how you'll recognise it in the list. e.g. "July restock". |
| Subject | What the customer sees in their inbox. Required before you can send. |
| Audience | Marketing opt-in (default) sends only to customers who agreed to marketing. All customers reaches everyone with an account — use it only for genuine service messages, not promotions. |
| HTML body | The formatted email. Tables and inline styles are allowed here (unlike elsewhere in the admin) because email clients need them. |
| Plain-text body | The fallback for clients that don't show HTML. Worth filling in — some spam filters mark HTML-only mail down. |
Sending or scheduling
- Send — starts the send now. It goes out in the background, so you can leave the page.
- Schedule — pick a date and time in the future and it fires itself. The time must be later than now.
Both need a saved draft with a subject. Once a campaign is sending, sent or scheduled it becomes read-only — you can't rewrite an email that's already on its way.
Good to know
- Every recipient is claimed before their copy is sent, so a crash mid-send never double-emails anyone when it picks back up.
- Each email carries an unsubscribe link. Someone who uses it drops out of the marketing opt-in audience automatically.
